Judi SINGLETON

Born in Sydney in 1963

 

Judi Singleton has a Bachelor of Ceramics from Monash University, Peninsula Campus and has been a professional artist since 1983.  She has had numerous Solo and Group Exhibitions at Kenthurst Galleries, Flinders Lane Gallery, Bendigo Art Gallery and Monash University to name a few.  She is an expressionist painter and ceramicist.

Singleton is represented at the National Gallery of Australia, Artbank, Parliament House and also in many private Australian collections. Judi won the Shepparton Art Gallery Ceramics Prize in 1991 and 1992 and the Sorrento Religious Art Prize in 2000.

Judi was one of the founding members of the famous Roar Studios in 1982, whose distinctive, expressive naive style combines a riot of childlike human figures, birds, trees and buildings. She is a highly acclaimed contemporary artist, whose distinctive naïve style combines a riot of childlike human figures, birds, trees and buildings, bound in incredibly bright colours. Each canvas and ceramic piece has a rich life of its own, and is totally engaging in its charming complexity. Her works simply express the joys of life!
